Workers of the Chelyabinsk defense radio plant “Polyot” accepted an appeal to support the current head of state Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections in Russia. The document was prepared on November 24 at a general meeting, a source at the enterprise told URA.RU. Putin himself has not yet announced his intention to run for office.
“On this day, a meeting was held at which General Director Dmitry Dovzhenko discussed the results of the year and plans for further work with production workers. More than a hundred people were present; at the end of the conversation, one of the workers stood up, took the floor and offered to support Putin’s candidacy in the upcoming elections. A forest of hands immediately went up – all that remained was to impromptu agree on the text and formalize it,” the source said.
On behalf of the team, the document was signed by the general director of the enterprise, Dmitry Dovzhenko. The appeal was sent to the Presidential Envoy to the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev, the Chief Federal Inspector for the Chelyabinsk Region Denis Chernyatyev, the Federation Council, the administration of the head of state and the All-Russian Popular Front.
“In this fateful and difficult time, we, the workforce of Chelyabinsk Radio Plant Polet JSC, consider it important to rally around the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. We propose to support Vladimir Vladimirovich and nominate him for the post of President of the Russian Federation. We consider this initiative appropriate and timely, and we also expect that labor collectives throughout the country will follow our example,” says the address adopted at the meeting.
The plant’s press service refrained from commenting. Presidential elections are scheduled for March 2024. It is expected that the current head of state may announce participation in them in early December, when he visits the Russia exhibition in Moscow.
