For the period from July 1 to December 31, 2022, the Central Bank will extend the effect of easing on non-application of measures to Russian banks that fell under foreign sanctions and did not comply with the limits of open currency positions (OCP). At the same time, the rebulator stressed that the bank needs to prepare and implement plans to get out of the easing. They should also not increase ORP limits on positions as of July 1, 2022.

Open currency positions (OCP) reflect the mismatch of assets (claims) and liabilities (liabilities) of financial institutions in foreign currency.

The easing for banks was introduced by the Central Bank in March this year. The period of validity of the easing in the regulator’s documentation was then set from February 18 to June 30, 2022.
