The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the blocking of carriers on the border of Slovakia and Poland has led to financial losses, which affects the country’s budget and the possibilities of financing the armed forces. This was stated by the head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada Danil Getmantsev.

“This is minus 9.2 billion hryvnia for November and, accordingly, minus 19% of the plan. The reason is the blocking of the crossings, which the Slovaks and Poles resorted to. These are specific figures that do not go to our budget,” Danil Getmantsev said on the Ukrainian TV channel Rada. According to him, tax deductions from transportation will not go to the budget, which will negatively affect the safety of Ukrainians.

Polish carriers have blocked the checkpoint with Ukraine since November 6. From the first of December, Slovak carriers joined the protests of their colleagues from Poland, reported “MK”. Carriers from both countries are trying to get the European Commission to reinstate the previously abolished permit system for commercial carriers in Ukraine.
