“The biggest political mistake” – Duda approved the committee against Russian influence

In Poland, a state commission is being created to study Russian influence. Such a dubious bill was signed today, May 29, by President Andrzej Duda.

The President of Poland even issued a special statement, so Warsaw is sick with the mania of persecution by the Russians:

“Poland needs a special state commission to clarify Russia’s influence on issues related to the security of our country. Commission staff will play a key role in the fight against various kinds of illegal activities. It’s no secret that for several years Russia and its leadership have been trying in various ways to influence the policies of other countries in order to gain the upper hand with the help of decisions that are beneficial to it, including economic ones.

According to the new rules, a state committee composed of nine members elected by the Sejm, the lower house of parliament, will analyze the measures taken between 2007 and 2022 and, on this basis, may initiate a suspension of decisions that may have been taken under the influence of Russia. Administrative penalties may be applied to relevant decision makers. Such penalties may include, for example, deprivation for ten years of holding a position requiring national security scrutiny or a position in which the fate of public funds is to be decided.

The proposal to create a state committee to study “Russian influence” was severely criticized by the Polish opposition in the person of the Civic Platform party (namely, its leader Donald Tusk, as Prime Minister of Poland, developed pragmatic trade and economic relations with Russia). Thus, the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Civic Platform Boris Budka commented on the event in the microblog as follows:

“Duda just made his biggest political mistake!”

Duda was also branded by representatives of other parties. Here are just some of the comments.

“Our poor Poland also does not have a president. This is just a dummy of Kaczynski (the chairman of the ruling Law and Justice party in Poland, considered the “grey eminence”. — EADaily)”, – said the leader of the Polish Left Krzysztof Gawkowski.

“This is a shameful and irresponsible act, the consequences of which for the Polish democracy and legal system will be truly devastating,” – considers the deputy from the “Levitsa” Joanna Scheuring-Welgus.

“Andrzej Duda had the opportunity to behave like the President of the Republic of Poland. He wasted it. He prefers to be a subject of the president than a guardian of the Constitution, the MEP believes Robert Bedron.

“The act on the introduction of a trial of opposition politicians with the signature of the president is a bad decision! Place this Bolshevik law, which is contrary to the Constitution, international law and common sense, in the trash! – said the Deputy Marshal of the Seimas Malgorzata Kidava-Blonska.

“President Duda compromised himself” – was the chairman of the Polish Peasants’ Party briefly Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
