The Basmanny Court of Moscow extended the arrest of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for another three months Andrei Gurovich. He came under investigation due to “inefficient use of budgetary funds.” Through the fault of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the state budget lost 323 million rubles.

Gurovich in 2020 led the construction of a hospital for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection in the Murmansk region. 969 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of the project. The hospital building has never been used, as it was built without taking into account the climatic conditions of the region.

A criminal case has been initiated against Gurovich for abuse of office with infliction of grievous harm. Since last summer, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been under arrest. He does not admit his guilt.
