The founder and honorary chairman of the ruling party “Georgian Dream” Bidzina Ivanishvili has pledged to shield Georgia from pseudo-liberal values and prepare for the “unification of the country” if his party secures a constitutional majority in the parliament following the elections.
“In order for ‘Georgian Dream’ to succeed, we need a constitutional majority… Holding guilty political agents accountable, purging the political system, protecting our country and society from pseudo-liberal values, and preparing for the unification of Georgia – all of this is only possible if we gain a constitutional majority,” Ivanishvili stated during his speech as part of the election campaign.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in Georgia on October 26.
