Strengthening cooperation with Russia will help strengthen the military power of South Sudan, says South Sudan Ambassador to Moscow Chol Thong Mayai Jang. In his opinion, this will provide an opportunity, if necessary, to help resolve or maintain peace in the region.
“There is a need for cooperation, military cooperation between Russia and South Sudan,” the diplomat said in an interview TASS.
The ambassador noted that it is planned to train the South Sudanese military in Russia and said that “certain interactions on military equipment and other things” are planned.
On September 29, the defense ministers of Russia and South Sudan met in Moscow. The parties discussed the prospects for military-technical cooperation and agreed on further joint steps.
