Teen Suspect Shoots: In New Jersey, a teenage suspect fatally shot a detective and injured another police officer. Authorities confirmed that suspect 14-year-old boy has been arrested and faces charges of attempted murder and illegal firearm possession – NBC reports.

Incident occurred Saturday in Newark New Jersey during a police investigation into illegal firearms. Detectivea five-year veteran of New York Police Department critically injured during shootout and later died after being taken to hospital. Second injured officer reported to be in stable condition.

Following incident four additional individuals connected to case were taken into custody.

In separate incident U.S. Secret Service agents shot an armed man near White House on Sunday morning. Local authorities had received warnings about a suicidal individual traveling from Indiana to Washington, D.C.

Suspect matched given description and when officers approached him individual reportedly fired his weapon. Secret Service agents responded by opening fire striking suspect. He was immediately transported to a hospital but his current condition remains unknown.

Authorities are actively investigating both incidents.
