The popular American singer Taylor Swift has declared her intention to back Vice President Kamala Harris in the November presidential election, amid speculation in the media that her endorsement could significantly impact the voting results.
Earlier, CNN reported that Joe Biden‘s reelection campaign team had been extremely interested in securing Swift’s support for his candidacy. Politico also revealed that the Democratic Party planned to attract voters at Swift’s concerts in Florida. Meanwhile, Trump noted that Swift should not support Biden, as he had not done anything for her and would not do so in the future.
“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” Swift wrote on her Instagram account* (Meta*, the owner of the social network, has been banned in Russia as an extremist organization).
Swift explained her choice, stating that, in her opinion, Harris is a “gifted leader with a good grip.” She added that the US could achieve much more if it were guided by “calmness rather than chaos.”
In April, Swift made it onto Forbes’ list of billionaires. In early February, she won a Grammy for Best Album of the Year for Midnights, and in December last year, she topped Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” ranking. In December 2023, her Eras Tour concert set a world record, becoming the highest-grossing tour in history, with over $1 billion in revenue.
The US presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 5, with Vice President Kamala Harris representing the Democratic Party and former President Donald Trump representing the Republican Party.
