Bat-bat for Delhi Capitals, Mumbai’s 3 crore stars fussed, color shown in T20 World Cup

New Delhi: In the Women’s T20 World Cup, England’s Alice Capse put the explosive batting of Ireland’s bowlers on the bandwagon. Ellis scored a blistering 51 off just 22 balls as England beat Ireland by 4 wickets. Apart from this, Nat Sciver Brunt (05) also returned to the pavilion cheaply, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crore in the WPL auction. England captain Heather Knight (14) and wicketkeeper Amy Jones (12) could not add much runs but thanks to the innings of Capse (231.8 strike rate), England achieved the target by scoring 107 runs in six wickets in 14.2 overs.

Katherine Sciver Brunt scored five not out. For Ireland, Cara Murray took three wickets for 15 runs while Orla Prendergast and Arlen Kelly took one wicket each.

Earlier, England’s Sophie Ecclestone (3/13), Sarah Glenn (3/19) and Charlie Dean (2/26) did not allow Ireland’s batsmen to settle at the crease, allowing the team to score 105 in 18.2 overs. Got confined to the run. Ecclestone has been bought by UP Warriors. Gabby Lewis top-scored for Ireland with 36 runs.
