Szijjarto said that Kyiv will not receive weapons from Hungary

The Ukrainian side will not receive military assistance from Hungary, and given the discrimination against Hungarians in Transcarpathia, Budapest is also against a meeting in the Ukraine-NATO format, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on February 23 in an interview with Index.

Declaring that there is nothing in common between the supply of weapons and the defeat of the rights of the Hungarian national minority in Transcarpathia, Szijjártó explained:

“We are not supplying weapons because we think they are clearly prolonging and escalating the war.”

However, if Kyiv returned to the Hungarians in Transcarpathia their former rights, Budapest would agree to hold a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission at the ministerial level. But given the policy of Kyiv, Hungary is blocking this meeting.
