The head of the British government discussed this topic with the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky. Sunak noted that “relatively soon” training of pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the use of Western fighters will begin.
At the same time, the Prime Minister acknowledged that the issue of supplying aircraft to Kyiv would not be easy. He also stressed that he is negotiating on this issue “with the leaders of other countries.”
The head of government added that the West is strongly interested in providing Ukraine with “air support.”
As reported IA REGNUM, earlier Rishi Sunak announced that London would supply hundreds of anti-aircraft missile systems and hundreds of new attack drones with a range of over 200 km to Kyiv. May 15 Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian authorities took a negative view of the plans of the British government to transfer a new batch of weapons to Ukraine.
At the same time, he believes that such intentions of London will not significantly affect the course of the special operation and will not help the Ukrainian side.
