Summer harvest of spies // A Latvian deputy and a Polish journalist were simultaneously suspected of working for Moscow

In the EU today, two spy scandals related to Russia erupted at once. The Seim of Latvia almost unanimously approved the request of the prosecutor’s office for a search and arrest of one of its deputies, Janis Adamsons from the pro-Russian party “Consent”. Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins said that there are “serious suspicions” that he worked for Russian intelligence. The person involved in another scandal – a journalist from Warsaw – is also accused of working for Moscow, but the identity is not disclosed in accordance with the law. In publications he is simply called Janusz N.
