Sultan of Oman paid an official visit to Iran

The Sultan of Oman paid a visit to Tehran. It is reported by SHARQ.

During the visit of the Sultan of Oman Haytham Ben Tariq Al Said met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President of the Islamic Republic Ibrahim Raisi.

The parties signed four agreements on cooperation in the field of economy, investment and energy, as well as on cooperation in the field of free zones.

Vice President of the Republic Mohammad Mohbari characterized the relations between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman as close and in-depth, and also expressed hope for the work of the two countries to develop bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

In addition, Mohbari noted that banking problems are one of the biggest obstacles to the development of trade relations between Tehran and Muscat, consultations on the removal of barriers will greatly facilitate trade cooperation.

EADaily recalls that Oman is pursuing a neutral policy in the region. Muscat maintained and developed trade, economic and political relations with Tehran, despite the antagonism between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
