State Duma deputy called the European Union an American reservation

Moscow, February 19, 2023, 01:30 — REGNUM State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet (United Russia) said that the European Union had lost its former independence and turned into an “American reservation”, commenting on the statement of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen that the countries of the European Union and the United States were developing sanctions against Russia before the start of the special operation in Ukraine.

“This is a cynical statement that proves that the countries of the European Union have lost their former independence and today it is an American reservation, which is under strict supervision by the United States and NATO”Sheremet told RIA Novosti, adding that the special operation thwarted America’s long-term plan to destroy Russia and its economy.

According to the deputy, the fear and servility of Europeans to the United States pushes them to a “suicidal act” – unleashing a large-scale war with a recently friendly Russia.

“The successful economies of the EU countries, thanks to the United States and their unreasonable policies, have sunk into oblivion”, Mikhail Sheremet concluded.
