“Sportmaster” faces a fine at the request of Roskomnadzor due to leakage of customer data

The World Court of the Cheryomushkinsky District of Moscow registered an administrative protocol drawn up by Roskomnadzor in relation to Sportmaster due to a violation of the law on personal data. At the end of 2022, the data of Sportmaster customers, including phone numbers, email addresses and names, leaked to the network.

“Municipal Section No. 52 of the World Court of the Cheryomushkinsky District of Moscow registered a protocol on an administrative offense against Sportmaster LLC. Consideration of the material is scheduled for April 4, ”the press service of the court said. “Interfax”.

As the agency was informed, Roskomnadzor drew up a protocol against the company on an administrative offense under part 1 of article 13.11 (processing of personal data in cases not provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation or processing of personal data incompatible with the purposes of collecting personal data). The company faces a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles.

On December 31 last year, information began to spread in Telegram channels that the data of Sportmaster buyers had appeared on the network. It was reported that phone numbers, email addresses and names of hundreds of thousands of customers were exposed to the public. On January 1, Roskomnadzor announced that it would check the information about the leak.
