South Korean Foreign Minister Park Chin announced Seoul’s support for the “one China” policy. He made the statement at the East Asia Summit (EAS) in Phnom Penh.
Pak Chin called peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait “a necessary condition for security and prosperity in the region.” The Minister emphasized that this issue is very important for South Korea.
The diplomat also expressed concern that the deepening geopolitical conflict could cause instability in the region, including in the form of disruptions in supply chains. Negative consequences of the confrontation may also await the Korean Peninsula, Pak Chin warned.
