Once the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine ends, South Korea will once again establish good relations with Russia.
South Korea’s foreign ministry official has clearly stated that the relationship between two countries is getting closer.
“I can confidently say that, after war ends, our diplomatic space with Russia will expand,” reported South Korean news agency Newsis.
He also shared information on the importance of relationships; immediately restoring the relationship will be challenging.
Make a decision based on the situation in which the battle ends. South Korea plans to observe the “post-war reconstruction process” before making any diplomatic changes, he added.
Officials also noted that, “given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and possible North Korean involvement, expecting improved relations or meaningful dialogue with Russia would be extremely unrealistic.”
He mentioned that South Korea currently sees no need to change its stance on Ukraine, including any arms supply to Kyiv.
South Korean agency Yonhap, said that “policy coordination between South Korea and the US will be undertaken during the establishment of new US administration.”
