By imposing anti-Russian sanctions against the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the European Union will not be able to break the will of the inhabitants of these new Russian regions. This was written by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky in his Telegram channel.

On October 6, the European Union approved a new, eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions, the geography of which also affects the Donetsk, Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

“The European Union extended anti-Russian sanctions to the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. It almost sounds like recognition of Russian sovereignty over these territories. True, with all the power of the hypocrisy of Brussels, ”the politician noted.

According to him, for eight long years, the EU did not want to see the real state of affairs in the Donbass, encouraged the direct genocide of the inhabitants of the DPR and LPR by Kyiv, and now “raised the sanctions cudgel and decided to punish people for choosing their own path.”

“But it is unlikely that these sanctions will have any meaning for the brave and strong people of Zaporozhye and Kherson region. You can’t break their will. They are at home, with Russia. Together we will restore, rebuild and improve. Crimea is a good example,” Slutsky concluded.
