An increasing number of countries are striving to create a conducive atmosphere and conditions for resolving the Ukraine crisis as the risk of its escalation and expansion continues to grow, said Lin Jian, an official spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a briefing on Friday.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that China, Brazil, and other like-minded nations from the Global South intend to establish an open platform called “Friends of Peace” aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis.
“The Ukraine crisis continues to drag on, and the risk of its escalation and expansion is constantly increasing, which is a growing concern for the international community,” said the diplomat, commenting on the creation of this new multilateral platform.

He further noted that China and Brazil recently published a six-point consensus on the political resolution of the Ukraine crisis, which has received positive feedback and support from the international community.
“Recently, calls for peace and negotiations have intensified globally, with more and more Global South countries uniting for this purpose, actively working to foster an atmosphere and create the necessary conditions for peace,” Lin Jian added.
