General Baluyevsky said that Chinese quadrocopters have revolutionized the conduct of combat with the help of artillery
Thanks to the use of drones, strikes with conventional projectiles have become as effective as high-precision ones. Conventional Chinese quadcopters have revolutionized the use of traditional artillery and put it back on a pedestal, Army General Yuri Baluyevsky said. This was reported RIA News”.
The former Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces wrote a preface to the book Alien Wars – A New Paradigm, in which he assessed the benefits of using drones. Thanks to them, the effectiveness of artillery strikes with conventional projectiles has become comparable to firing precision-guided munitions.
“Simple Chinese-made commercial quadrocopters have made a real revolution in the use of traditional cannon and rocket artillery, almost completely solving the age-old problem of reconnaissance, target designation and artillery fire adjustment,” he said.
Yuri Baluyevsky noted that thanks to this, traditional artillery returned to the “pedestal of the god of war”, albeit temporarily. He agreed that the Mavic quadcopter of the Chinese company DJI has become a symbol of modern warfare, like the Russian low-cost Orlan-10 drones.
