African countries can participate in the fight against the shadow arms market, and Russia is ready to share its experience in countering terrorism with them. This proposal was made by a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Adalbi Shkhagoshev during the second international parliamentary conference “Russia – Africa”, which takes place at the State Duma.
Russia has experience in countering terrorism due to the events that took place earlier in the North Caucasus, the deputy recalled and called for local meetings of parliaments in order to use this experience to create special counter-terrorism companies.
Shkhagoshev also expressed concern about the shadow arms market. He explained that over the past three decades there has not been such a saturation of the countries of Africa, the Middle East and Europe with modern weapons, as after the NATO campaign for the global supply of weapons to the territory of Ukraine.
“I believe that this will definitely work in the medium term,” the parliamentarian believes. Therefore, it is worth thinking about special commissions, including African countries, in order to fight this, he said.
