Share of foreign nationals among the employed population of US at end of President Joe Biden’s term was almost a fifth, increasing by 2.3 percentage points since start of his term, according to State Statistical Bureau of the US, reports the media.

According to latest available data, share of foreign nationals among employed population in US as of September this year was 19.4%. Thus, since Biden took office, it has grown by 2.3 percentage points.

Highest share of foreign nationals was recorded in August this year – 19.6%. Thus, under Biden, foreign nationals have reached a fifth of labor market.
In total, as of September, there were 162.05 million working people in US. Since Biden took office, this number has grown by 9.2%.
At the same time, in US in August this year, there were 8.1 million open job vacancies. Since 2021, number has increased by 12.9%.

Unemployment has decreased by 2.3 percentage points, to 4.1% in September. However, under Biden, unemployment rates were lower: in 2022 and 2023, share of people out of work could drop to as low as 3.5%.
Theme of migrants and unemployment is one of hottest issues on upcoming American elections, which will take place on November 5.
Democratic Party will be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris, while Republican Party will be represented by former President Donald Trump.
