A fire at a petrochemical plant in Shanghai, east China, killed one person and injured another. This was reported on June 18 by China Central Television.

According to the Shanghai fire department, information about a fire at a petrochemical enterprise was received on June 18 at 04:28 Beijing time (23:28 Moscow time on June 17). The incident occurred in the Jinshan city district at an ethylene glycol plant owned by Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co Ltd.
The fire and rescue team is on the scene. According to the Xinhua news agency, five hours after the fire, the fire was contained.
