Serbia, due to EU sanctions, will not be able to import oil from Russia from November, President Aleksandar Vučić said. He estimated the losses from the EU embargo on Russian oil at $600 million.
“Dozens of new problems appear daily, we must keep in mind that from November we will no longer be able to import Russian oil,” said Mr. Vučić (quoted by TASS).
The sanctions are imposed in response to the Russian military operation in Ukraine. In early June, the EU introduced the sixth package of sanctions, which suggests that European countries should abandon Russian oil within six months and oil products within eight. An exception was made for oil coming through the Druzhba pipeline.
Analysts believe that in 100 days of hostilities in Ukraine, Russia could earn $ 98 billion in the export of fossil fuels.
