Senator Pushkov proposed to leave Bulgaria without gas

Russia has no reason to resume gas supplies to hostile Bulgaria, Sofia itself was desperate to spend the winter without Russian fuel. This opinion was expressed by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov.

“I think Bulgaria should be given the opportunity to do what it so desperately wanted to spend the winter without Russian gas. It is not entirely clear for what reason gas supplies to an actively “unfriendly”, that is, hostile state should continue, especially since it itself has refused them,” — the senator wrote in his own telegram channel.

Recall that Bulgaria is faced with a gas crisis, fuel prices in August should rise immediately by 60%. Russian gas supplies to the country ceased on April 27, as Bulgargaz refused to switch to the new settlement mechanism.

In early August, the chairman of the board of directors of the Bulgarian gas distribution company Bulgargaz Ivan Topchiysky stated that the company continues to negotiate with the Russian “Gazprom”. According to him, there is a possibility of resumption of Russian gas supplies.

Head of Bulgargaz Lyudmil Yotsovcommenting on the situation in the country, said that he hoped for the continuation of gas supplies from Russia, and took the official letter from Gazprom Export about paying for gas in rubles as a joke.
