The people’s militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic accused the Ukrainian security forces of installing 500 mines by the road in the area of Popasnaya, which is controlled by Kiev, near the contact line in the Donbass.
Earlier, the LPR People’s Militia announced the mining by Ukrainian security forces of a field in the area of Popasnaya.
“In the area of Popasna, the fighters of the 30th APU brigade installed more than 500 TM-62 anti-tank mines near the public T0504 highway used by the population for movement and representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) for patrolling,” the press told reporters service of the defense department of the LPR.
The press service said that in the Popasnaya settlement itself, the placement by Ukrainian security forces of the Konkurs anti-tank missile system and the equipment of new positions were recorded. According to the LPR People’s Militia, the deployment of armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Kiev-controlled Crimean, Prichepilovka, Bobrovo was also recorded.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.
