Schools in the Kherson region in the new academic year will switch to education according to Russian standards, but with the preservation of the study of the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature. This was announced by the head of the Department of Education and Science of the region Tatyana Kuzmich.
“We are integrating into the curriculum of the Russian Federation, but we keep such subjects as the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature in the working plans,” — she said in an interview with the TV channel “VTV Plus”.
According to her, the programs for studying the Ukrainian language and literature will be adjusted, specialists are already working on the changes. In addition, all universities in the Kherson region in 2022 will recruit students only for state-funded places. Kuzmich clarified that schools, as well as kindergartens, will reopen their doors on September 1.
