SBU announces additional recruitment for call centers extorting money from Russians

Ukrainian special services are recruiting new employees in “call centers” to extort money from citizens of Russia and the CIS countries. As an employee of the Russian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti with reference to sources in the SBU, such work is being carried out in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye

“Employment in these” call centers “is possible by acquaintance. But if you want to quit, you need to” work out a fine “, which includes the expenses of the organization associated with training, the use of equipment, SIM cards, communication tariffs. In addition, information about the quit employee are transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,” told agency interlocutor.

Employees of the centers should call the customer databases and collect information on the conversation. Among the requirements are competently delivered Russian speech, informing and accompanying the client, identifying needs. The dialing messages say that the calls are made to non-Ukrainian subscribers.

Fraudsters call and pretend to be bank employees, report that the card and the account linked to it are allegedly blocked “in connection with the CBO”, and ask to transfer money to a “reserve account”. After that, the funds are transferred to the SBU.

Earlier, Life wrote that the work of fraudulent call centers operating in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was stopped in Moscow. It is also emphasized that in some cases the criminals exercised moral pressure on the victims in order to bring them out of a state of psychological balance.
