Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s suggestion to establish an independent Palestinian state on Saudi territory.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Saudi Foreign Ministry outright rejected the proposal, calling it a direct violation of the kingdom’s sovereignty.

Netanyahu’s comments made during a media interview last Thursday, suggested that Saudi land could be used to createa a Palestinian state sparking widespread criticism.
Egypt and Jordan also joined Saudi Arabia in denouncing Netanyahu’s remarks with Cairo describing. The idea as a blatant infringement on Saudi sovereignty. Hamas expressed gratitude to Riyadh for its unwavering support for Palestinian cause and its firm stance against plans to displace Palestinians.
