Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday sent a legal notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state (Maharashtra) President Chandrakant Patil for his alleged remarks linking him and his wife Varsha to the PMC Bank scam. He called it insulting.
Raut tweeted, “I have sent a legal notice to Chandrakantdada Patil for his derogatory, baseless and bogus remarks against him and my wife. If Chandrakant Dada does not tender an unconditional apology, I will take further legal action and approach the Hon’ble Court.” I’ll go.”
Shiv Sena MP Raut has also attached a copy of the notice with his tweet.

Shiv Sena leader’s lawyer Vikrant Sabne said in the notice, “The statement given by you in the open letter/reply, which claims that our client’s wife Varsha S Raut has received an amount of 50,00,000 from the PMC Bank scam , is unfair.”
Advocate Vikrant Sabne, on behalf of Sanjay Raut, asked Chandrakant Patil to clarify the facts in seven days. Failure to do so will be bound to initiate necessary legal action under the appropriate law.
