The President confirmed that about 1 million Moldovan citizens have Romanian passports, but noted that there are people who are “afraid of reunification.”

In Moldova, 32% of citizens support unification with Romania, according to a February study by the Institute for Marketing and Opinion Surveys (IMAS). In Romania, 31% of respondents are in favor of this.
