SAM “Vityaz” in the zone of the NWO – air targets were shot down in automatic mode for the first time

In the zone of the special military operation, the Russian mobile anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) S-350 Vityaz was used in combat conditions for the first time in automatic mode.

On Wednesday, May 24, the agency “RIA Novosti” with reference to an informed source. He said that the Vityaz air defense system performed search, escort and destruction of enemy air targets without the participation of an operator.

The result of the operation of the complex in an autonomous mode was several downed combat aircraft and drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU). The interlocutor of the agency stressed that the experience gained is unprecedented.

He explained that the automatic mode was fully implemented without human intervention in the decisions of the artificial intelligence of the complex within the framework of the emerging air combat situation.

It is noted that the air defense system simultaneously worked in both active and passive radar modes, which made it possible to improve immunity from interference, as well as expand the device’s capabilities for detecting and classifying targets.

The C-350 Vityaz system has recently ceased to be a demonstration model, but is already actively used by Russian employees. The air defense system is effective for protecting important facilities: military bases, large cities or nuclear power plants.

The maximum target range for the S-350 is 120 km. The gun can operate autonomously, as well as as part of an air defense (AD) grouping.
