Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine is the decision of a sovereign country, all the tasks set will be solved, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today, June 17, in his speech at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“In the current situation, against the backdrop of increasing risks and threats for us, Russia’s decision to conduct a special military operation was forced. Difficult, certainly, but forced and necessary. This is the decision of a sovereign country, which has an unconditional right, based on the UN Charter, to defend its security, ”he notes.
“Today, our soldiers and officers, the Donbass militia are fighting to protect their people, defend Russia’s right to free and safe development, as a large multinational country that makes its own decisions, determines its own future and rejects all attempts to impose the pseudo-values of dehumanization and moral degradation. All the tasks of the special military operation will certainly be solved. And the guarantee of this is the courage and heroism of our soldiers, the consolidation of Russian society, whose support gives strength and confidence to the army and navy of Russia,” the president emphasized.
