The US Open has followed the lead of the French Open (Roland Garros) in terms of Russian participation in the tournament. It was decided not to remove Russians, as well as Belarusians, from the US Open in response to the military operation in Ukraine. Athletes will compete in the tournament under a neutral flag.
Russians and Belarusians were not allowed to another well-known tournament in the UK Wimbledon.
