Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev spoke about Russia’s attitude to China’s policy on Taiwan. He reaffirmed support for Beijing’s course.
Patrushev expressed solidarity at a meeting with the Chairman of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a member of the Politburo Wang Yi. The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation added that Russia shares China’s policy in other areas, reports TASS.
“In this context, I want to reaffirm our unwavering support for Beijing on the issues of Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong, which are used by the West to discredit China,” he said at a meeting with a Chinese diplomat.
Recall that the meeting is taking place in Moscow. Earlier, Patrushev called Russian-Chinese relations valuable in themselves and not subject to external conjuncture. Wang Yi is also reportedly scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
