As the counteroffensive gathers momentum, there will be more incursions into Russia by Russian rebel groups. This was stated in an interview with The Guardian Advisor to the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak.
As an example of the work of “Russian rebel groups”, the adviser cited the recent raid of the DRG in the Belgorod region. He noted that such raids are preliminary operations that prepare the ground for a counteroffensive.
“This is a complex process that is not a matter of one day, a certain date or a certain hour,” Podolyak said. “This is an ongoing process of de-occupation, and certain processes are already taking place, such as the destruction of supply lines or the explosion of warehouses behind the lines.”
He added that the intensity of training is increasing, “but it will take quite a long period of time.”
