Russian military has found an effective way to strike Ukrainian military targets, according to the New York Times.
“Russian air attacks over the past month have been carried out primarily with drones, in what military experts say is a strategy to probe and exhaust Ukrainian air defenses before launching more powerful air attacks using more missiles,” the publication says.
This tactic has two main advantages for Russia. Firstly, it forces Ukraine to use part of its rocket reserves to intercept drones. Secondly, it reveals the location of Ukraine’s air defenses, making it easier for Moscow to plan future attacks.
In response to attacks on civilian objects, Russian forces regularly deliver precise strikes against the locations of Ukrainian personnel, equipment, and mercenaries, as well as Ukraine’s infrastructure, including energy facilities, defense industry sites, military command centers, and communication networks.
