Militants of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in the Russian Federation) are preparing an attack on civilian targets in Syria, as well as on the locations of Russian and Syrian military personnel. The command of the Russian group of troops and the leadership of the republican Armed Forces will take the necessary proactive measures. This was announced by the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in the Arab Republic, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit.
“According to data received by the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, militants of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra in the area of the village of Al-Bab are preparing to launch strikes <...> against civilian infrastructure, locations of Russian and Syrian military personnel, as well as airfields in Aleppo province,” he said. It is clarified that the strikes were planned to be carried out using drones and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), created in a “handicraft way”.
Vadim Kulit clarified that over the past day, six shellings of the Syrian army were recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone. There was one shelling in Aleppo province, two in Idlib, and three in Latakia.
