Beijing witnessed a rare gathering of global leaders as Chinese President Xi Jinping stood alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. This event marked the 80th anniversary of victory over Japan in World War II, featuring a grand military parade.

In Tiananmen Square, the 70-minute spectacle showcased cutting-edge military technology. Drones flew overhead, hypersonic missiles streaked across, while heavy tanks rolled on streets. Xi highlighted Beijing’s growing military might.
For the first time, displays included DF-61 intercontinental missile, JL-3 submarine-launched ballistic missile, and YJ-20 hypersonic anti-ship missile. Other highlights featured Type 99B main battle tank, PHL-16 multiple rocket launcher, and new-generation loyal wingman drones.
Analysts note these missiles and hypersonic weapons target US Navy and Washington’s presence in Taiwan Strait. Notably, YJ-20, known as carrier killer, aims at American aircraft carriers.
Xi addressed the parade, stating People’s Liberation Army remains reliable force for government and people. He urged soldiers to build world-class army, perform duties faithfully, and protect national unity and territorial integrity swiftly.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump expressed anger on social media. He accused Putin and Kim of plotting against United States. Kremlin denied these claims.
Trump also questioned if Xi remembered America’s contributions during war against Japanese aggression. In sarcastic tone, he extended well-wishes to Xi and Chinese people.
Donald Trump earlier accused his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping of conspiring against the US with the leaders of Russia and North Korea.
“Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Now, Kremlin spokesperson Yuri Ushakov has rejected any suggestion of a conspiracy against the US, according to Russian state media, calling Trump’s words “ironic”.

Tass reports Ushakov as saying that Putin, Xi and Kim are “not even thinking about a conspiracy against the United States” and that the three leaders understand Washington’s role “in the current international situation”.
This parade underscores shifting alliances amid rising tensions between major powers.
