Russia is ahead of its competitors in the field of nuclear weapons – Kommersant

Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia is ahead of its competitors in the field of nuclear missile weapons. He said this during a speech at the Russia exhibition and forum.

“For the first time in the history of the existence of nuclear missile weapons, our country is ahead of its competitors in this area, becoming the owner of unique strategic weapons, including hypersonic weapons,” said Mr. Patrushev (quoted from TASS).

He added that such weapons “guarantee security for decades to come.” During his speech, the Secretary of the Security Council said that new types of weapons appeared in Russia and carried out army reform following the conflict in Georgia in 2008.

On March 27, Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia has “a unique weapon capable of destroying any enemy.” At the same time, he said, Moscow does not intimidate anyone “with its military advantage.”
