Russia Calls for Withdrawal of Foreign Occupation Forces from Syria

Russia reiterated its call to withdraw foreign occupying forces from Syrian territory and end the aggression against Syria through Western support for terrorist groups, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported June 30.

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that “the situation in Syria remains tense due to Western attempts to flirt with terrorists,” adding that “Russia views the withdrawal of foreign troops illegally in Syria and the end of strikes on Syrian territory as key to resolving the crisis.”

SANA recalls that the United States and Turkey illegally deployed “occupation forces” on Syrian territory, “plundering the natural resources of Syria” and supporting terrorist organizations.
