Russia becomes India’s second largest oil exporter after Iraq

In June, Russia overtook Saudi Arabia in the supply of crude oil to India, becoming the country’s second-largest exporter of black gold after Iraq, reports The Economic Times.

“India seeks to get oil at a deep discount and at rock bottom prices. Oil now meets all these requirements. Saudi Arabia is compensating for the reduction in the supply of raw materials to India by increasing oil exports to European countries,” writes The Economic Times, citing sources from the Indian government.

Earlier it became known about India’s failure of the West’s plans to isolate Russia. The Indian authorities have significantly increased the purchase of Russian fertilizers, and The Washington Post journalists recalled that India is far from the only major partner of the Russian Federation.
