Rublev eliminated from Cincinnati Masters


Andrei Rublev lost to American Taylor Fritz in the third round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournament in Cincinnati. The game lasted 2 hours 27 minutes and ended with the score 6:7 (4:7), 6:2, 7:5.

In the second set, the Russian needed a medical timeout. The loss will see Rublev drop out of the top 10 ATP rankings for the first time since October 2020. He is currently in eighth place. The updated rating will be published on Monday, August 22.

The tournament in Cincinnati (Ohio, USA) belongs to the Masters series. It is held on the hard surface and will end on August 21. The prize pool is $6.2 million.
