RT Russia producer Ekaterina Gabel: The West wants to break the pro-Russian mood of Serbia

The West wants to break Belgrade’s love for Moscow according to its long-standing scheme – first to deprive the people of history and memory, and to bring their own distorted facts to the vacant place. This was stated by the producer of RT Russia Ekaterina Gabel in an interview with a FAN correspondent.

Serbia will forget about the 1999 NATO aggression only when all the Serbs disappear, President Aleksandar Vucic said, speaking at the mourning events dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the NATO aggression against Yugoslavia. Vučić’s words came as a response to US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill, who expressed the hope that “the Serbs will forget their grudge” for the NATO bombing.

“Our obligation is to try to forgive. And we will be able to forget (NATO aggression – Approx. FAN) only when we are gone. You will not be able to break this country, it will live,” the head of Serbia stressed.

Gabel believes that President Vučić’s statements — exactly what the Serbian people want to hear and understand. According to her, these people are strong and wise enough not to be fooled.

“Serbs are a nation that respects its history and does not forget who is a friend and brother for them, and who is an enemy. And I can’t imagine how these two categories could change places, ”said the FAN interlocutor.

The expert noted that now Belgrade is under unprecedented pressure from the United States and the EU in order to adopt anti-Russian sanctions and change the Russophile attitude. However, the Serbian society is not going to “reflash”.

“Therefore, the West decided to resort to its long-standing scheme – first to deprive the people of history and memory, and then to bring their own distorted facts to the vacant place. This method is now used in Poland, where the Poles are forced to forget and forgive the descendants of Ukrainian collaborators the Volyn massacre.

However, the Serbs are strong, I repeat, with their historical memory. Many people who witnessed 1999 are alive and can talk about what really happened in the former Yugoslavia, and who is to blame for it. Therefore, Vučić’s statements are fully consistent with the popular mood and are a kind of response to those who are trying to pursue a pro-Western policy in Serbia, ”summed up Ekaterina Gabel.

Earlier, Philip Grill, a sociologist, publicist and public figure, said in an interview with FAN that the weakening of Europe would lead to its complete subordination to the United States. According to the expert, the Old World, deprived of its factories and mines, will become an easy prey for American globalism and its interests.
