Rospotrebnadzor told what to do to Sverdlovsk residents in case of a flight delay or cancellation

Flight Koltsovo-Sheremetyevo, terminal

Passengers whose flights are postponed or canceled due to weather conditions have the right to cancel the flight, compensate for losses or collect a fine from the airline. This was stated by the Office of Rospotrebnadzor for the Sverdlovsk region after massive flight delays at Koltsovo airport on March 18 and 19.

“Passengers have the right to refuse a flight and return the cost of tickets, even if they are considered non-refundable. Also, if a passenger, due to the cancellation or rescheduling of a flight, is late for pre-paid events, then he has the right to recover losses from the carrier, ”the ministry said in a telegram channel.

In addition, in case of a flight delay, the passenger is entitled to free additional services, such as luggage storage and provision of a room for a mother with a child under seven years old. Passengers are also required to provide water, food and accommodation in a hotel.

In Yekaterinburg, from March 18, they began massively delaying flights to Moscow and Sochi. The aircraft were unable to take off due to fog. On March 19, the situation only worsened. Flights to Yerevan have been added to the listed destinations. Both days, the Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office keeps the situation under control: the department has organized the work of a mobile reception at Koltsovo Airport and monitors the provision of services to passengers.
