"Rosoboronexport" spoke about the localization of production of AK-203 in India

    NEW DELHI, Dec 7 – Localization of production of Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles in India will increase from 5% to 70%, and then become 100%, Alexander Mikheev, general director of Rosoboronexport, told reporters in India.
    “There is a peculiarity of launching production. The first 120 thousand AK-203 assault rifles will be produced in India with a gradual increase in localization from 5% to 70%. The rest of the assault rifles will be produced with 100% localization,” Mikheev said.
    According to him, the Russian side confirms its readiness to ensure full-scale production of the latest version of Kalashnikov assault rifles within 2-3 years, which will provide the Indian power structures with modern small arms.
    In India, a modern production line has been created at the Korwa plant (Uttar Pradesh state), a shooting range for factory and acceptance tests of machine guns. The specialists of Rosoboronexport and the Kalashnikov concern take an active part in all stages of the organization of production.
