Roskomnadzor will start selling personal data about mobile subscribers to banks

During a meeting of the Communications Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, harsh criticism was voiced of the bill, which allows Roskomnadzor to collect data on mobile customers and sell them to banks.

According to the publication Forbes, this project was created to help in the fight against “laundering of public money” and prevent the “financing of terrorism”. It is with this that the recently started registration of users of “suspicious” SIM-cards is connected.

Representatives of the cellular communication market strongly oppose the bill, because it negatively affects their activities, creates an extra burden and infringes on the interests of telecom operators.

Earlier, advanced cellular-satellite communications were promised to be introduced in Russia as early as 2035.
