Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of the US state of Florida intends to run for President of the United States in 2024.

The governor of Florida is currently touring the country, ostensibly to promote his memoirs. However, the American media tends to view these trips to various states as the start of DeSantis’s election campaign.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the chances of his victory during the primaries are growing and he really claims to become a candidate for the US presidency from the Republican Party.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey published by the publication. Politico. They say that Republicans are more ready to support DeSantis than former President Donald Trump.

The respondents had to name the desired names themselves, and there were several options. 73% of respondents would support Ron DeSantis, 43% – Donald Trump. Nikki Haley, another Republican candidate, was favored by 36% of respondents.

It should be borne in mind that such a gap between DeSantis and other candidates is recorded even before he officially confirmed his intention to go to the polls. Whereas Donald Trump already did so back in November 2022.
