The first batch of Venezuelan oil was prepared for shipment to European countries. This is stated in the material of the Reuters news agency.
We are talking about a cargo of high-density heavy oil with a volume of 650,000 barrels. It is known that the fuel was insured by the Italian company Eni. It is emphasized that this delivery is the first export of crude oil to Europe from Venezuela under US sanctions in the past two years.
As follows from the Reuters material, this fuel should be loaded by the end of the month in a batch of two million barrels. The oil will be sent to Europe with the possibility of its further sale to Repsol.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak assessed the likelihood of a transition to paying for Russian oil supplies in Russian currency, similar to gas. According to him, at the moment this possibility is not considered.
